MILE Ice Breaking Night

There's nothing we love to do more (besides laughing) than dressing up, and the theme for this year is "Noire". Think 1930's and 40's. The whole idea of the black and white days of Al Capone, the starry lights of Hollywood, and yes the cigars, the mob, the detectives and the glitz and glamour were all there.
There were refreshments( non-alcoholic),
Then came the Wordfather,
the Men,
the Other...Men
the Women,
the Romance,
the Scandal,
and the Murder!
The dim lights and the haunting melodies added much to the mystery of the night. For whenever there is an event like this, there will be a crime. The tale spun around the men, the women, the romance as well as the scandals... all with a bottle of Barbican to wash em' all down. Bottoms up!

Living English

Welcome to the Living English programme, where all things art English. The lesson itself focuses on the very root of English- that is the ability to nurture English and to speak it without the constraints of boring old classroom style learning. Here is the place where one builds their courage and confidence to  communicate in English, the fun way. If you're trying to break away from the fear of using the language, come and have some fun!
The instructor is nonetheless, a lot less scary than he looks. I mean, the most he does is to threaten to give you a moustache with a marker pen. Non-permanent, of course.
Get to know others as well as brush up on your language, it's always a fun experience guaranteed.

Going That Extra MILE

Another academic year calls for a fresh start in MILE, and boy are we excited. Fresh faces, new ideas and passion present you the very spirit of the club. The AGM itself yielded a plentiful amount of members attending, all filled with ideas as well as anticipations for what may come, fueled by the activities of the previous year, especially the MILE drama.
There is also much laughter, thanks to the (sometimes accidental) fun  in the way the meeting was conducted, with plethora of jokes to get members new and old  feeling at ease. The informal approach of MILE's committee may very well have to be blamed.
I mean seriously, name one club President who wears  a skirt in front of an audience and promotes Elmo.
 Okay, name two.

Overall the meeting managed to gather a collective of events and ideas throughout the whole academic year, from ice breaking events, English classes, various charity work to the big game itself, The Drama. Everyone is gearing up for all the planned activities and if you're not, we're always more than happy for that extra helping hand. Join the fun!

Motivational Talk with Dr. Raj

It's a busy week for most of us... nothing like all the assignments, projects, results and lab reports rolled into one week, aye?
There's only one way for you to pull yourself together when this week ends.

Get MOTIVATED! Throw away that STRESS! Laugh away that PAIN!
(Yes, I said laugh, 'cause that's the way this gentleman does it.)

And get some free refreshments and SAPS points for attending!

The most hilarious of motivational speakers who needs no slides, no computer, but just his voice and his whacky actions is coming to MMU!
(He's probably a superhero.)

Those who attended a certain Motivational Talk called "Take Charge" back in 2008 would remember him.
The rest of you MUST get to know him.
Guaranteed, you will enjoy this if you enjoyed the MILE Comedy Night.

Venue : ACR 1002
Date : 6th January 2012
Time : 5.30pm - 8.30pm

Entry is FREE! Registration is required as seats for the event are limited. Register by writing on the event wall, visiting the MILE booth in Plaza Siswa this week, or by sending an e-mail to mile.mmu.mlc@gmail.com
